Quality assurance

Quality control is the most demanding phase of the operation, in terms of planning, organisation and resources.

To ensure the very highest quality, we build in three stages of checking: an initial revision by the translator, a second by the project manager, and a third and final check carried out externally by an expert in the particular field.

Revision by the translator

The first revision is performed by the translator, who checks for:

  • consistency of terminology
  • correct spelling

In-house revision

At this stage, the project manager re-reads the document in full to ensure that nothing has been omitted.
As a second step, the document is analysed using special software (Mercury TransQA™), which checks for the following:

  • consistency of terminology in relation to customised glossaries
  • correct spelling, syntax and grammar

External revision

The external revision is concerned mainly with style and terminology. For this purpose, we use experts in the particular field (e.g. in the chemicals sector, we can call on consultants who work for national research institutions).

At the end of this procedure, a report is drawn up detailing the checks carried out on the translation. This document is presented to the client together with the translation.
